Cadet Greco begins in the Fargodome

FARGO, N.D. - Cadet Greco-Roman action officially started at the 2018 U.S. Marine Corps Cadet and Junior National Championships at the Fargodome in Fargo, N.D. on Wednesday morning.
With action going only through the round of 32, Wednesday night’s action will include the round of 16 and quarterfinals.
There are multiple exciting wrestlers that advanced to the round of 32, including Triple Crown candidates Mason Gehloff of Minnesota and Maxximus Martinez of California.
Both wrestlers are competing at 94 pounds as Gehloff moved up from 88 pounds, where he won a Cadet freestyle national title earlier this week.
Returning Greco champions Yusief Lillie of Washington (106) and Carson Manville of Pennsylvania (152) are in the hunt to repeat. Manville earned a freestyle title earlier this week at 145 pounds.
Other wrestlers that won freestyle championships this year include Jesse Ybarra of Arizona at 120, Dominick Serrano of Colorado at 132, Joshua Edmond of Michigan at 138, Quayin Short of Minnesota at 160, Nathaniel Deasey of Arizona at 220 and Hayden Copass of Illinois at 285.
2017 Cadet National Greco-Roman runners-up Conor Knopick of Nebraska (120) and Fabian Lopez of Illinois (132) are still in the hunt.
The next session of Greco-Roman action is set to begin at 5 p.m. CT live on Flowrestling.org.
