Nine returning champions get strong start in first session of Junior Women's Freestyle Nationals

FARGO, N.D. – The first session of the Junior women’s freestyle tournament concluded on Tuesday morning at the 2018 U.S. Marine Corps Cadet and Junior National Championships in Fargo, N.D.
There are several hammers still alive in the championship side of each bracket as only a couple of rounds were wrestled in most weights.
The field is highlighted by 2018 Cadet World champions Emily Shilson of Minnesota at 100 pounds and Macey Kilty of Wisconsin at 152 pounds and two-time Cadet World medalist Alara Boyd of Indiana at 138 pounds.
There are also six other past World Team members, including Caitlyn Walker of Pennsylvania at 106, Vayle Baker of Pennsylvania at 117, Cameron Guerin at 122, Alisha Howk of Wisconsin at 122, Alex Liles of Colorado at 132 and Kelani Corbett of Hawaii at 164.
Looking to double up this week, Cadet champions who remain in the championship hunt include Sage Mortimer of Utah at 100, Mia Palumbo of Illlinois at 106, Adriana Dorado-Marin of Colorado at 117, Alexys Zepeda of Oregon at 122, Jahnea Miguel of Hawaii at 138, Tristan Kelly of Colorado at 164, Jaycee Foeller of Missouri at 180 and Olivia Brown of Oklahoma at 200.
