CADET FREESTYLE
FARGO, N.D. ¬- Tonight, two Fargo runner-ups continue to battle for another chance at the national title. Dominick Serrano of Colorado at 126 pounds and Ryan Franco of California at 132 pounds both will wrestle this evening in the semifinals.
Serrano refused any offense from his opponent in his quarterfinals bout, defeating Reid Ballantyne of Minnesota 12-0 by technical fall.
Franco kept his quarterfinals a bit closer than Serrano. The Californian defeated Georgia’s Jaxon Smith 16-14, dominating the second period in a wide open bout.
Returning national champions Carson Manville of Pennsylvania (145) and Drake Ayala of Iowa (106) also continue onto the semi-finals

JUNIOR FREESTYLE
The first session of Junior men’s freestyle action resulted in a few upsets, counting 2017 Junior freestyle champion Patrick McKee of Minnesota losing to Doug Zapf of Pennsylvania, 9-7, in the round of 64 at 126 pounds.
Other notable wrestlers to get knocked out of the championship side are 2017 Junior freestyle runner-up Jeremy Schoenherr of Wisconsin at 145 pounds, 2017 All-American Gabe Miller of Pennsylvania at 145 pounds and 2018 Cadet Greco World Team member Dominic Damon of Washington at 145 pounds.
Returning Junior champions still alive in the tournament include Wil Guida of New Jersey at 106 pounds, Anthony Artalona of Florida at 145 pounds and Anthony Cassioppi of Illinois at 285 pounds.
In all, there are 28 Junior freestyle All-Americans, 10 past Cadet freestyle champions and two other members of the 2018 Cadet Greco-Roman World Team.

JUNIOR FREESTYLE
The first session of Junior men’s freestyle action resulted in a few upsets, counting 2017 Junior freestyle champion Patrick McKee of Minnesota losing to Doug Zapf of Pennsylvania, 9-7, in the round of 64 at 126 pounds.
Other notable wrestlers to get knocked out of the championship side are 2017 Junior freestyle runner-up Jeremy Schoenherr of Wisconsin at 145 pounds, 2017 All-American Gabe Miller of Pennsylvania at 145 pounds and 2018 Cadet Greco World Team member Dominic Damon of Washington at 145 pounds.
Returning Junior champions still alive in the tournament include Wil Guida of New Jersey at 106 pounds, Anthony Artalona of Florida at 145 pounds and Anthony Cassioppi of Illinois at 285 pounds.
In all, there are 28 Junior freestyle All-Americans, 10 past Cadet freestyle champions and two other members of the 2018 Cadet Greco-Roman World Team.
