NYKOBING FALSTER, Denmark – USA Greco put together three medal performances on the final day of the Thor Masters tournament in Denmark.

Randon Miranda and Jesse Thielke advanced to the finals at their respective weights to claim silvers, while RaVaughn Perkins picked up a bronze.

“The U.S. team won quite a few tough matches today,” U.S. Greco-Roman National Coach Matt Linland said. “We could have won more if our young guys realized how good they really are. I’m super excited to see Jesse and RaVaughn back in action and competing tough. Randon just keeps raising his level with another international medal. We have a huge opportunity to get better in the next 10 days with our international training camp starting Monday.”

At 55 kg/121 lbs., two-time Junior World Team member Miranda sailed to the finals, outscoring his first three opponents, 28-6, collectively. In the gold-medal match, Miranda faced two-time Maccabi Games champion Ilia Tsaryuk of Israel. The American was bested in a 7-0 match to earn silver.

2016 Olympian Thielke did not surrender a single point to put himself in the 63 kg/139 lbs. finals. For gold, he took on Romania’s Radu Mihai Mihut, who won the Grand Prix of Zagreb earlier this month. The two battled it out, but Thielke fell in a tough 7-6 bout. The silver is Thielke’s first medal of 2018.

At 72 kg/158 lbs., Olympic Trials champions Perkins lost to 2017 Thor Masters champion Timo Badusch of Germany in his fifth match of the tournament. However, the American bounced back in the third-place bout, dominating 2017 Nordic silver medalist Toni Ojala of Finland, 9-0.

Perkins led Team USA in wins at the event with five.
