Consider helping Colorado wrestling family in tragic car crash that takes life of mother and injures five kids

The USA Wrestling family is saddened by the death of a wrestling mother, who was killed in a tragic automobile crash in Southwest Colorado on Sunday on the way home from a USA Wrestling competition.
Holly Buffington-Yake, 33, passed away as a result of a crash near Pagosa Springs, Colo. According to the State Patrol, the family’s Ford F-150 went off the road and hit a tree on Highway 160. This is a wrestling family which is very active in USA Wrestling events and programs.
Five children from the family (ages 6, 9, 10, 12 and 13) were in the car with their parents. Three of the children were seriously injured, while two of the children suffered minor injuries. Their father, Richard Yake, who was the driver of the automobile, was not injured.
Peak 2 Peak Wrestling and the USA Wrestling community has established a Go Fund Me site to help assist the family during this time of tremendous need. All proceeds will go directly to the family.

Members of the wrestling community have already begun to do what they can to support the family. Greco-Roman World Team member Patrick Martinez joined other wrestling leaders in visiting with the children who are currently in the hospital recovering from the accident. Others are finding ways to provide support.
This is an especially tough time for those affected, during the holiday season.
“USA Wrestling would like to express its sincere condolences to these members of our wrestling family and all those who are suffering from the loss of Holly. We will continue to keep them in thoughts and prayers. We will do whatever we can to help as the children recover from their injuries and the family attempts to heal from this tragedy,” said Tony Black, Director of State Services for USA Wrestling.
