by Interview by Taylor Miller, USA Wrestling
Kyle Snyder, a three-time World and Olympic champion, sat down with USA Wrestling last week as he was in town for his World Championships evaluation, which included him meeting with the freestyle World Team coaches and breaking down his tournament as well as coming up with a plan for the 2019 season.
Just two months ago, Snyder won his fourth-consecutive Senior World medal in as many attempts, claiming silver at 97 kg at the 2019 World Championships in Budapest, Hungary. He fell short of gold, losing to 2016 Olympic champion at 86 kg Abdulrashid Sadulaev of Russia, whom Snyder beat in the finals for the 2017 World title.
In the interview, he discusses his 2018 Worlds performance, the World Team evaluation process and his hopes to wrestle Sadualev at the 2019 Ivan Yarygin Memorial in Russia next month.
