Men's freestyle receives draws for final day of Junior Pan American Championships in Brazil

FORTALEZA, Brazil – The U.S. men’s freestyle team received its draws for the final day of the 2018 Junior Pan American Championships in Fortaleza, Brazil.

Five wrestlers that competed in Greco-Roman yesterday will suit up for the USA again on Sunday for the freestyle portion, including Greco champions Dylan Gregerson at 61 kg, Cameron Caffey at 92 kg, Austin Harris at 97 kg and Anthony Cassioppi at 125 kg.

In his first match, Cassioppi will face Aly Barghout of Canada, who defeated last year, 11-1, in round robin action.

Anthony Mantanona, who won bronze in Greco-Roman earlier this week, drew Eli Gomez Tejeda of Ecuador at 79 kg. On Friday, Mantanona faced Gomez twice, defeating him with an 8-0 tech fall and a pin in 1:28.

Other wrestlers representing the U.S. tomorrow include Brandon Courtney at 57 kg, Andrew Alirez at 65 kg, Austin O’Connor at 70 kg, Jeremiah Moody at 74 kg and Kordell Norfleet at 86 kg.

O’Connor will take on Sergio Godoy Vite of Ecuador, who took silver at the 2016 Cadet Pan American Championships, and Norfleet will face Nicolas Baez of Argentina at 86 kg, who secured a bronze medal in Greco action earlier this week.
