Legends of Gold International Development Academy (IDA) and Legends of Gold Regional Training Center (LOG RTC) are excited to announce plans to support and train Senior level athletes at the Beresford, SD training facility.

The goal of the IDA and LOG RTC is to promote the international styles of wrestling through the development of athletes at all levels. The IDA and RTC will support the athletes through coaching opportunities as well as mentorship programs with the high school and middle school IDA.

The first two senior athletes to join the IDA will be Greco Roman athletes Jesse Thielke and Cody Pack.

Thielke was a member of the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team where he placed ninth. Thielke has seen a great deal of success over his Greco career: 8th in 2013 World Championships, 2012 Junior World Bronze Medalist, 2nd in World Olympic Qualifier, 2nd at 2015 U.S. Open, 3rd in 2013 and 2016 U.S. Open, 4x U.S. Junior World Team Member (2009-2012), 2009 Cadet Pan American Champion. He is a native of Wisconsin.

Pack is coming off a successful first year on the senior circuit where he finished fifth at the U.S. World Team Trials. He also finished sixth at the U.S. Open. Pack also had a successful collegiate career at South Dakota State University where he was a 4x NCAA National Championship Qualifier.

LOG IDA facilities are located at 47256 297th Street in Beresford, South Dakota. The team from Sanford POWER and The Sanford Sports Science Institute (SSSI) will offer the unique opportunity to develop a customized program specifically for the Senior wrestling athletes being trained and tested.

The athletes’ training cycle will be developed in line with the National Team Training regimen and will have access to Olympic Training Centers and other Regional Training Centers to enhance their ability to develop in the international styles at an accelerated rate. This will include monthly visits from U.S. National Team Coaches, staff and/or elite athletes.
