Walker, Shore, Howk, Liles and Corbett receive draws for 2017 Cadet World Championships

ATHENS, Greece – The final five members of the U.S. Cadet women’s team received their draws for the 2017 Cadet World Championships in Athens, Greece.

At 40 kg/88 lbs., Caitlyn Walker returns to her second-straight World Championships. She will battle Japan’s Sakurai Hanano in the first round.

2017 Cadet freestyle national champion Olivia Shore will compete at her first World Championships, drawing 2015 Cadet World champion Ekaterina Mikhailova of Russia at 46 kg/101 lbs. Mikhailova finished 11th at last year’s Worlds.

Alisha Howk, a two-time Fargo champion, is the U.S. representative at 52 kg/114 lbs. She’s got two-time Cadet European bronze medalist Mariana Dragutan of Moldova to start the day.

2015 Cadet World Team member Alexandria Liles returns to the World tournament and is set to face Switzerland’s Miriam Loetscher, who took 15th at 2016 Cadet Worlds.

Making her World debut, 2017 Cadet freestyle national champion Kelani Corbett will take on Khulan Tsermaa of Mongolia in her first bout at 70 kg/154 lbs. Tsermaa was fifth at the 2017 Cadet Asian Championships.

With the new two-day format, wrestlers will compete through the semifinals in their first day of competition with repechage and medal matches to be contested the following day.

The preliminary rounds and repechage begin at 10:30 a.m. local time (3:30 a.m. ET), with semifinals beginning at 5:30 p.m. local time (10:30 a.m. ET).
