Maya Nelson gets two late takedowns to beat Teshya Alo in 63 kg University semis

2016 Junior World bronze medalist Maya Nelson of the Sunkist Kids won a wild 63 kg semifinal bout at the Women's University Nationals today over 2014 Cadet World champion Teshya Alo of the Titan Mercury WC. Trailing 7-4, Nelson scored a pair of takedowns in the final minute, and received an extra point for a failed challenge by Alo and her coaches. Nelson, a 2016 University Nationals champion at 60 kg will face defending 63 kg University Nationals champion Mallory Velte of the Titan Mercury WC in the finals, which begins at 7:00 p.m. Central time and will air on FloWrestling.
