David Taylor pushed to the brink by Nick Heflin in World Team Trials thriller

David Taylor entered the U.S. World Team Trials as much positive momentum as anyone. He was undefeated on the year with Paris International and U.S. Open gold medals under his belt, in addition to his legendary World Cup outing where he defeated two Olympic champions.
As the No. 1 seed in the 86 kg challenge tournament, most expected him to cruise to the finals with relative ease. Nick Heflin had other plans. Taylor and Heflin battled it out for a spot in the best-of-three championship series, and it took a massive second period comeback from Taylor to earn the win.
