It all came down to a deciding third match at 86 kg between J'den Cox and David Taylor at the U.S. Freestyle World Team Trials in Lincoln, Neb. on June 10. Cox, a 2016 Olympic bronze medalist, had not wrestled freestyle since the Rio Games. Taylor had his best international freestyle season ever and won the U.S. Open in April.
