Jordan Burroughs needed three matches to defeat Kyle Dake and win the U.S. Freestyle World Team Trials at 74 kg. When he lost a match to Dake, it was his first loss on U.S. soil in Senior freestyle ever. Burroughs won the deciding third match, and make his seventh straight U.S. World or Olympic Team. He is a 2012 Olympic champion and three-time World champion. However, he is coming off the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, where he was not able to medal. Burroughs won the World Team spot in his hometown arena, as the Nebraska graduate was wrestling in Lincoln for the first time since his college career ended.
