Team USA defeats Sweden in Superior Dome

The U.S. squad started the night with a win, as Taylor LaMont of Mapleton, Utah, won by technical fall 8-0 over Anton Rosen of Sweden at 60 kg. LaMont wrestled twice in the dual meet, also defeating opponent Arvid Westlun by technical fall 8-0.

Other U.S. athletes winning by technical fall were Jacob Cochran (48 kg), Britton Holmes (69 kg) and Randon Miranda (60 kg).

Also picking up wins for the U.S. were Frankie Tal-Shahar at 63 kg and Ryan Cummings at 76 kg. Tal-Shahar faced Albin Johnsson, defeating him 10-9. Cummings faced August Ericksson, pulling out a 1-1 victory by scoring the last point in the match.

The Superior International Wrestling Camp concludes with matches Friday and Saturday in the NMU-OTS wrestling room. Those matches are set to take place at 10:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. both days.
