With the conclusion of the WCWA Women’s College Nationals in Oklahoma City last weekend, there have been 14 straight years of a women’s college national tournament in the United States.
Based upon this amount of history, we could easily create some trivia questions about women’s college wrestling. Test yourself. How much do you know about the history of the women’s college national tournament?
Over time, only five universities have won team titles, and only five head coaches have led a team to a women’s college national title. Name the colleges and the universities.
There have been only three four-time national champions, eight three-time national champions and 20 two-time national champions. How many of these multiple national champions can you name?
The school that has won the most individual women’s college national titles has taken 28 golds. Only three colleges have had more than 20 women’s college individual champions. There are 15 colleges that have had at least one women’s college individual champion. Can you rank which programs have won the most gold medals?
