U.S. Greco-Roman wrestlers get draw for Arvo Haavisto Cup in Finland

ILMAJOKI, Finland – A team of nine U.S. Senior Greco-Roman wrestlers have weighed in and received their draws for the Aavo Haavisto Cup on Saturday.
Two-time World Team member Patrick Martinez (Colorado Springs, Colo./NYAC/OTC) opens at 85 kg/187 lbs. against Riku Liikkanen of Finland, who was third in the 2016 Arvo Haavisto Cup.
2017 World Team member G’Angelo Hancock (Colorado Springs, Colo./Sunkist Kids) is competing at 130 kg/286 lbs., and will face in the first round Tuomas Lahti of Finland, who was second in the 2015 European U23 Championships.
Martinez and Hancock will be seeking gold medals for the second straight weekend, after capturing titles at the S.A. Lavrikov Tournament in St. Peterburg, Russia on December 3.
2017 Junior World Team member Randon Miranda (Palmdale, Calif./NMU-OTS) has drawn 2015 Mediterranean champion Albert Baghumyan of Spain in his first match at 59 kg/130 lbs. Miranda seeks his third international gold medal of the early season, after winning titles at the Malar Cup and the Klippan Cup in Sweden this fall.
All nine of the U.S. athletes competing in Finland were also at the S.A. Lavrikov Tournament last weekend.
