- 2015 World bronze medalist Odunayu Adekuoroye (Nigeria) tech. fall U23 European champion Irina Kurachkina (Belarus), 10-0. Adekuoroye becomes second woman from Africa to make World finals.

- 2016 Cadet World champion Haruna Okuno (Japan) tech. fall European champion Bilyana Dudova (Bulgaria), 11-0.

Quarterfinals

- Becka Leathers (United States) falls to 2016 Cadet World champion Haruna Okuno (Japan), 8-0. Okuno controlled things throughout, scoring three takedowns and a pair of step outs in the win.

- 2015 World bronze medalist Odunayu Adekuoroye (Nigeria) pins two-time World medalist Otgontsetseg Davaasukh (Mongolia) in 3:00.

- U23 European champion Irina Kurachkina (Belarus) dec. 2014 European champion Maria Gurova (Russia), 8-0.

Round of 16

- Becka Leathers (United States) gets her first win of the day in emphatic fashion over Ramona Galambos (Hungary). Leathers scored a quick takedown, then followed with a crafty pin in 1:13.

- Two-time World medalist Otgontsetseg Davaasukh (Mongolia) dec. 2016 University World champion Bediha Gun (Turkey), 8-3.

- Two-time Junior World medalist Davaanchimeg Erkhembayar (Mongolia) dec. 2015 World bronze Tatyana Kit (Ukraine), 7-6.

- U23 European champion Irina Kurachkina (Belarus) dec. Olympic bronze medalist Natalya Sinishin (Azerbaijan), 2-1.

- Two-time World medalist Otgontsetseg Davaasukh (Mongolia) dec. 2015 World bronze medalist and two-time U23 European champion Tatyana Kit (Ukraine), 7-6.

Repechage

- Becka Leathers (United States) advances to bronze medal match with 13-2 technical fall over Carola Rainero (Italy). Leathers hit two takedown-to-turn combinations, plus a four-point toss, to run up the score.

- Pan American champion Michelle Fazzari (Canada) wins by injury default over Olympic silver medalist Valeria Koblova-Zholobova (Russia).

- Olympic bronze medalist Marwa Amri (Tunisia) dec. 2014 World bronze medalist Iryna Chykhradze (Ukraine), 8-1.

- Two-time Asian champion Aisuluu Tynybekova (Kyrgyzstan) dec. European bronze medalist Laura Mertens (Germany), 6-0.

- Helen Maroulis (United States) goes to work early in 10-0 win over Hanbit Kim (Korea). Maroulis scored quickly on a go-behind takedown, and followed with four turns from a leg lace to get the technical fall in 0:49.

- 2014 World bronze medalist Iryna Chykhradze (Ukraine) pins Asian bronze medalist Katsuki Sakagami (Japan) in 3:57.

- Two-time African champion Aminat Adeniyi (Nigeria) dec. European champion Grace Bullen (Norway), 9-8.
