The United States Marine Corps will be the title sponsor of the Cadet and Junior National Championships, which will be held at the FargoDome in Fargo, N.D., July 14-22.
As the partnership between USA Wrestling and the United States Marine Corps continues to grow, title sponsorship of this marquee event became an absolute must.
“The United States Marine Corps is proud to be the title sponsor for the Cadet and Junior National Championships in Fargo,” said Lieutenant Colonel John Caldwell, National Director of Marketing and Public Affairs for the Marine Corps Recruiting Command. “Marines are excited to associate our warrior ethos and fighting spirit with these wrestlers, coaches, and spectators. The fighting spirit at the heart of every Marine is what makes us unique. We fight to win. And we are proud to be on hand to see more than 3,000 athletes competing in the FargoDome, with their fighting spirit on full display.”
USA Wrestling is thrilled to have the Marines as title sponsor of the Cadet and Junior Nationals. As the largest wrestling tournament in the world, which showcases some of the best wrestling talent in the nation, it is a premier event for the U.S. Marine Corps to be involved in.
“The Cadet and Junior Nationals is one of the toughest tournaments in the country, so the Marines are a perfect fit to come on board as the event’s title sponsor,” said Rich Bender, Executive Director of USA Wrestling. “To participate in this event, you have to be exceptionally disciplined, resilient, gritty, and determined, all of which are shared values among wrestlers and Marines. A lot of folks choose to spend their summer in easier, more relaxing ways, but the wrestlers that come to Fargo are the future stars of our sport, both at the collegiate and international levels.”
The U.S. Marine Corps Cadet and Junior Nationals is an event that requires wrestlers to follow state procedures in order to be eligible. All athletes who meet age group requirements, any existing state qualifying procedures and are current members of USA Wrestling are eligible to participate.
