TBILISI, Georgia – Five U.S. wrestlers have weighed in and received their draws for the second day of Greco-Roman competition at the 2016 Cadet World Championships.

Donning the stars and stripes at New Sport Palace in Tbilisi, Georgia on Wednesday will be Andrew Chambal (Millington, Mich.), Mosha Schwartz (Franktown, Colo.), Max Wohlabaugh (Winter Springs, Fla.), Clay Lautt (Olathe, Kan.) and Brandon Whitman (Dundee, Mich.).

“Preparation has been pretty good,” U.S. coach Gary Mayabb noted after weigh-ins. “Today was a really positive day. They did a great job finalizing their weight. They were in good spirits. A couple of them worked pretty hard at it, but overall a really good job on all parts.”

Chambal will kick things off at 42 kg/92.5 lbs. against 2016 Cadet European champion Vladislav Kuzko of Ukraine. The Michigan native was a double All-American at the USAW Cadet Nationals this year finishing second in Greco-Roman and third in Freestyle. He was also a 2016 USAW Folkstyle Nationals champion.

The well decorated Schwartz opens 46 kg.104.4 lbs. competition against Ashot Mkhitaryan of Armenia who finished in fifth place at the Cadet Europeans the past two years. Schwartz won the USAW Triple Crown in 2015 and was runner-up at the Junior World Team Trials this year.

Wohlabaugh, a double All-American at the USAW Junior Nationals this summer, is set to face Yasin Turan of Turkey in his first match at 69 kg/152 lbs. The Florida product was runner-up in both styles at Junior Nationals this year and was a Cadet Greco-Roman champion in 2015.

Competing at 76 kg/167.2 lbs., Lautt begins his Cadet Worlds journey against 2016 Cadet European bronze medalist Teodor Domozinov of Bulgaria. Lautt finished in fifth place at the USAW Junior Greco-Roman Nationals this summer. In addition, he holds two All-American honors from the USAW Cadet Nationals in 2015.

Whitman, a three-time Fargo All-American himself, will wrestle Hakob Baghdasaryan of Armenia to begin his tournament at 85 kg/185.4 lbs.
