PARIS, France – The USA will have both men’s freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestlers competing at the Paris International this weekend. Four Americans have weighed in and received their draws for Saturday’s opening day of competition.
In men’s freestyle, 2016 U.S. Open runner-up Chris Perry (Stillwater, Okla./Titan Mercury WC) has a challenging first-round draw at 74 kg/163 lbs., as he opens against 2015 World silver medalist and 2014 Junior World champion Hassan Yazdanichariati of Iran. Perry was an NCAA champion for Oklahoma State, and has dropped down to this weight class this season for his Olympic run.
Three U.S. Greco-Roman wrestlers have weighed in and received their draws.
Two U.S. Marine Corps wrestlers, who also competed at the U.S. Naval Academy, are wrestling on Saturday, Robby Neill (Camp LeJeune, N.C./U.S. Marine Corps) at 80 kg/176 lbs. and Daniel Miller (Camp LeJeune, N.C./U.S. Marine Corps) at 98 kg/215 lbs.
Neill opens with Nabil Ykhlef of host France. Miller wrestles Di Xiao of China, who was seventh in the 2015 World Championships.
At 66 kg/145.5 lbs., Brian Graham (Minneapolis, Minn./Minnesota Storm) battles Jair Cuero Munoz of Brazil, a two-time Pan American Championships bronze medalist.
