Escobedo gets draw for day one of Yasar Dogu International in Turkey

ISTANBUL, Turkey – The United States will have one freestyle wrestler competing on Friday at the respected Yasar Dogu International, 2013 World Team member Angel Escobedo of the New York AC at 57 kg/125.5 lbs.
Escobedo weighed in and received his first-round draw, and will face Ben Telil Kairreddine of Tunisia in the opening round.
Escobedo was fifth in the 2013 World Championships. He was an NCAA champion for Indiana University.
The U.S. has a delegation of 11 wrestlers on this tour, and the other Americans will wrestle either Saturday or Sunday. Competing Saturday will be 2012 Olympic champion and three-time World champion Jordan Burroughs (Lincoln, Neb./Sunkist Kids) at 74 kg/163 lbs. Competing on Sunday is 2012 Olympic champion Jake Varner (State College, Pa./Nittany Lion WC) at 97 kg/213 lbs. and 2015 World bronze medalist James Green of the Titan Mercury WC at 65 kg/143 lbs.
