Oklahoma USA Wrestling has sent this letter from the Schneider family of Edmond, Okla. to the wrestling community.
To the wrestling community:
I have always known that the wrestling community’s love and support runs deep, but in these past few days, I experienced that love like I never could have imagined. It wasn’t just support from Edmond North Wrestling or the Oklahoma Wrestling Academy, it was from the entire state of Oklahoma and then went further with Colton’s article on the USA Wrestling website.
And one truth I know is that the love and support I’ve experienced over the last few days is not going to go away. God is the only one who knows what lies in store in the coming days and years, but what makes it bearable for me is knowing that you all will continue to be there for my family and myself.
I want to thank you all and just say that from this outpouring of love I’ve experienced, it makes it even more apparent that in wrestling, we don’t compete “against” each other, we compete “with” each other. This is a support group and family that is not seen in other sports and I am so thankful for being part of it.
Thank you again for your love and support.
Andy Schneider and family.
