NCAA DI Championships week will kick off early with a top –tier dual meet event. Flo Premier League 5 headlines a dynamic high school all-star dual, the Missouri Border Brawl, on March 17 at the historic St. Louis Union Station in downtown St. Louis.

Competition will begin at 6 p.m. (CDT) that Tuesday beginning with the Missouri Border Brawl followed directly by two outstanding senior level matchups in FPL 5.

The FPL 5 main event will pit the past versus the present as 2009 World Silver medalist and 2012 Olympian Jake Herbert takes on 2014 World Team member Ed Ruth at 190 pounds.

After a two-year hiatus from senior-level competition, Herbert is once more shooting for a spot on the U.S. World Team at 86 kg/189 lbs.

“To beat the best you have to become the best. I love having challenges like Ed. He will bring out my inner most ninja, and the better he is the better I have to become to win,” Herbert said.

Ruth is riding the momentum of an illustrious 2014 campaign where he won his third NCAA championship followed by earning a spot on the Men’s Freestyle World Team that competed in at the World Championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan last September.

“I’m very excited to wrestle against someone who’s so seasoned in the sport of wrestling,” Ruth said.

The co-main event will feature two past NCAA finalists at 180 pounds as four-time NCAA All-American and University World Champion Tyler Caldwell will face two-time NCAA All-American and current Bellator fighter Chris Honeycutt.

Prior to FPL 5 many top high school wrestlers from Missouri and its surrounding states will show down in the Missouri Border Brawl.

The Missouri Border Brawl is an all-star dual meet featuring a team comprised solely of Missouri wrestlers against a team of top stars from the states bordering Missouri.

Nearly every member of Team Missouri has won at least one Missouri State Championship and will feature nationally ranked names like Jaydin Clayton (Father Tolton Catholic), Connor Flynn (Francis Howell), Will Roark (Seneca) and Colston DiBlasi (Park Hill).

Team Border is loaded with talent, boasting a large number of Fargo All-Americans and top Division I recruits. Participants on Team Border include three High School teammates from Stillwater, Okla., Kaid Brock, Joe Smith and Jordan Dieringer, in addition to the likes of Iowa high school stars Max Thomsen (Union), Fredy Stroker (Bettendorf) and Jacob Marnin (Southeast Polk).

“It is going to be an amazing event,” said Missouri Border Brawl organizer David Mirikitani. “The matchups we created for the Brawl and Flowrestling created for FPL 5 are unbelievable. Also, all the proceeds go to charity, so we would love to have everybody there. Everyone will get their money’s worth.”

Fans can watch the Missouri Border Brawl followed by FPL 5 online at 6 p.m. (CDT) live on Flowrestling.com.

Tickets are still available for the Missouri Border Brawl at www.cagetix.com. Additionally, a donation page for the Missouri Border Brawl charity has been set up at http://www.moborderbrawl.com/donate-now/.
