14 U.S. women land spots in United World Wrestling rankings

The new United World Wrestling women’s freestyle rankings are now available.
There are 14 American athletes that are ranked in the top 20 women’s freestyle wrestlers in the World at their weight class.
2014 World champion Adeline Gray (Colorado Springs, Colo./New York AC) is ranked No. 1 at 75 kg/165 lbs. Gray won gold at the 2014 World Championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. She is a two-time World champion and four-time World medalist.
The next highest Americans in the rankings also remain two-time World medalist Helen Maroulis (Rockville, Md./Sunkist Kids) at the No. 2 spot at 55 kg/121 lbs and 2012 World champion and four-time World medalist Elena Pirozhkova (Colorado Springs, Colo./Titan Mercury WC) at the No. 2 spot at 63 kg/138.75 lbs.
Two-time World Team member Whitney Conder (Colorado Springs, Colo./U.S. Army WCAP) moved up to the No. 5 spot at 53 kg/114.5 lbs.
Two-time Junior World champion Victoria Anthony (Huntington Beach, Calif./Titan Mercury) advanced to No. 8 in the 48 kg/105.5 lbs rankings. Anthony has won the Dave Schultz Memorial International and the Cerro Pelado International in 2015. Anthony placed fifth at the 2013 Senior World Championships at 51 kg.
2012 Olympian Kelsey Campbell (Tempe, Ariz./Sunkist Kids) jumped to No. 14 at 58 kg/128 lbs after previously being ranked at No. 19. Campbell also recently won gold at the Cerro Pelado International. Her teammate, two-time World team member Alli Ragan (Colorado Springs, Colo./New York AC) is ranked at No. 6 at 58 kg. Ragan placed fifth at the 2014 World Championships.
Two-time World bronze medalist Alyssa Lampe (Colorado Springs, Colo./Sunkist Kids) has the No. 11 spot at 48 kg.
2008 Olympic bronze medalist Randi Miller (Colorado Springs, Colo./U.S. Army WCAP) holds the No. 14 spot at 69 kg/152 lbs.
Erin Clodgo (Colorado Springs, Colo./Sunkist Kids) is currently ranked No. 18 in the world at 63 kg. Clodgo won the Dave Schultz Memorial this year.
Two-time World Team member Leigh Jaynes (Colorado Springs, Colo./NYAC) is ranked No. 18 at 60 kg/132 lbs. Jaynes won the Dave Schultz Memorial this year.
Jackie Cateline (Alhambra, Calif./Titan Mercury WC) holds the No. 19 ranking at 75 kg.
Two Americans who were not ranked in February have joined the international rankings for March. Katherine Fulp-Allen (Colorado Springs, Colo./New York AC) is No. 17 at 53 kg and Becka Leathers (Choctaw, Okla.) is No. 13 at 55 kg.
Leathers earned a bronze medal at the Klippan Lady Open in Klippan, Sweden after defeating Sandra Paruszewski of Germany. Fulp-Allen placed fifth at the Klippan Lady Open.
The top ranked women’s freestyle wrestlers in the World are: Eri Tosaka of Japan (48 kg), Saori Yoshida of Japan (53 kg), Chiho Hamada of Japan (55 kg), Kaori Icho of Japan (58 kg), Sukhee Tserenchimed of Mongolia (60 kg), Yulia Tkach of Ukraine (63 kg), Aline Focken of Germany (69 kg) and Adeline Gray of the United States (75 kg).
