Donate to Bill Farrell Wrestling Center at OTC by July 27 and have gift matched up to $5,000

USA Wrestling has started a soft launch of a new fundraising campaign to complete the construction of the Bill Farrell Wrestling Center at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.


USA Wrestling is raising the final $75,000 for this amazing facility during a 60-day period to complete renovations for the state-of-the-art training facility. Over $300,000 has already been raised, and you can help us to reach the finish line.


Thanks to the amazing generosity of Herb and Melanie House of Global Screening Solutions, we're kicking off the campaign with a $5,000 matching fund. Every dollar we raise up to $5,000 will be matched prior to the hard launch of the campaign, which begins on Monday, July 27.

The facility is named in honor of the late Bill Farrell, the 1972 Olympic freestyle head coach, New York Athletic Club athlete, coach and leader and an innovator in the wrestling products industry through ASICS.


Olympic and World champion and legendary wrestling coach Dan Gable, who wrestled for Farrell at the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich, West Germany, had this to say about his coach and dear friend.


"Bill Farrell was special. His understanding of his athletes and getting them to work by themselves and as a team was very efficient. His understanding of wrestling and his opponents led to extra success on and off the mat. His business skills helped and carried over to many that he touched. Combined, the results speak for themselves. Wrestling is still benefiting from Bill and now this upgraded facility named in his memory will carry it further forward,” said Dan Gable.


Some of the new aspects of the renovations include:

1.Expansion from three to eight mats

2.Expansion of our cardio area for cross-training

3.Bleachers added for spectators and athletes

4 .Better ventilation

5.Reduction of injuries due to more space between groups of wrestlers

6. Expansion of athletic training area to better treat injuries on the spot

7.Improvement of our resident program training schedules so practice times will be more flexible, allowing multiple times to train simultaneously.

All those who donate to the Bill Farrell Wrestling Center will be recognized. At all levels of giving, names will be included on the official website and in social media shoutout. Those who give at the Gold Level ($2,500), Platinum Level ($5,000) and Diamond Level ($25,000) will be recognized on a special plaque inside the Bill Farrell Wrestling Center.


The Bill Farrell Wrestling Center will help current Olympic-caliber athletes as they prepare for World and Olympic competition, as well as many young athletes who go there to learn and will develop their wrestling skills, strengthen their talents, and expand the future of this great sport.
