COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Clarissa Chun’s not done yet.

The 2008 World champion and 2012 Olympic bronze medalist earned a thrilling 6-4 win over two-time World bronze medalist Alyssa Lampe in the Dave Schultz Memorial International semifinals.

Chun stormed out to a quick 4-0 lead, saw Lampe tie the match before Chun dug down to score a third-period takedown for the win on Saturday morning at the U.S. Olympic Training Center.

Chun owns one Schultz title, and that came a decade and a half ago in 2000.

“The last time I wrestled her was the Olympic Trials,” Chun said of Lampe. “Alyssa is a very tough wrestler. I respect her as a person, as a wrestler. I have to execute the things I have been working on during my training.”

Chun will battle 2013 World Team member and past Junior World champion Victoria Anthony in the women's freestyle finals at 48 kg/105.5 lbs. Anthony hit a late headlock to rally for a semifinal win over Canada’s Genevieve Morrison.

“The top three in our weight class can win a medal at the World Championships,” Chun said. “This is like wrestling in the Worlds for me. She is a tough competitor as well. I respect her as well.”

Anthony has had the upper hand over Chun since the Olympics. Anthony beat Chun at the 2014 World Team Trials and at the Bill Farrell International in New York in November.

“I always love wrestling Clarissa. It’s fun,” Anthony said. “She has a judo background as well. There is usually a lot of action and I appreciate that in a match. I look forward to it.”

The finals are set for 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

Three-time Schultz champion and four-time World medalist Elena Pirozhkova rolled into the finals at 69 kg/152 lbs. Pirozhkova will meet 2008 Olympic bronze medalist Randi Miller in the finals. Miller beat Pirozhkova 2-1 in the 2014 Schultz finals.

Two-time World medalist and three-time Schultz champion Sally Roberts will battle past World Teamer Leigh Jaynes-Provisor in the finals.

Two-time Schultz champion and two-time World medalist Helen Maroulis advanced to the finals against top young prospect Sarah Hildebrandt at 55 kg/121 lbs.

2005 World champion and two-time Schultz champion Iris Smith will battle Canada’s Justina DiStasio for the title at 75 kg/165 lbs.

Past World Teamers Whitney Conder and Alli Ragan also reached the finals. Erin Clodgo will face Kayla Aggio in an all-American final at 63 kg/138.75 lbs.

King College wrestler Julia Salata earned a 2-2 win over World champion Alina Makhinya of Ukraine in the quarterfinals at 69 kg/152 lbs. Salata lost to Pirozhkova in the semis.

This is the final day of the three-day Schultz event, which started in 1999. The tournament honors the legendary Dave Schultz, an Olympic and World champion and seven-time World medalist.
