FILA Junior Greco wrestlers sought for Austrian Junior Open tour

MARQUETTE, Mich. — Eight Northern Michigan University Olympic Training Site athletes are scheduled to compete in the Austrian Junior Greco-Roman Open next month in Gotzis, Austria.
The tournament will take place from Feb. 27-28, followed by an international training camp from March 1-7. Coach Rob Hermann will lead the group.
NMU-OTS is currently looking for athletes away from their program to join in on this tournament. Eligible wrestlers must be born between 1995-1998, be a current USA Wrestling member, and be a past ASICS/Vaughan Cadet and Junior Greco-Roman All-Americans or Greco-Roman State Champions. Contact Coach Hermann at the number mentioned below or Jose Quintana (USA Wrestling) at gr@usawrestling.org.
Eight other countries are scheduled to participate as well including France, Italy, Czech Republic, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Switzerland and Austria.
“This tour is to help our junior wrestlers get the training and competition that they need to compete at the FILA Cadet/Junior world championships,” said Hermann.
