Beat the Streets Wrestling is excited to announce that David Pottruck will be kicking off the 2014-2015 speaker series, which is scheduled to take place on October 27th.
A native of Long Island, NY, Pottrock’s high school athletic career would eventually lead him to the University of Pennsylvania, where he wrestled. While at UPenn, he earned three letters in Football and Wrestling. Pottruck finished his junior year with an overall mark of 7-0-1 and All Ivy League honors. He also placed second at the Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Championships (EIWA) at 190 pounds. He served as co-captain in 1970, the final season of legendary coach Donald Frey’s tenure at Penn. He went on to pursue his MBA at Wharton and served as Penn’s wrestling’s freshman coach during those years.
He is a member of the Hall of Outstanding Americans of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame.
Pottruck is the current Chairman of HighTower Advisors, a wealth management firm with a net worth of $25 billion he helped launch in 2008. In addition to his professional success, Dave is also the coauthor with Terry Pearce of, “Clicks and Mortar: Passion Driven Growth in an Internet Driven World.” A top-ten best seller in Business Week and on Amazon, “Clicks and Mortar” has been translated into six languages and was on the best seller list in Germany.

He has been named one of the “Top 15 CEOs” by Worth; “CEO of the Year” by Information Week; “Executive of the Year” by the San Francisco Business Times; and “CEO of the Year” by Morningstar. He was named by Smart Money as one of the three most influential executives in the world of investing and by Institutional Investor as the number one most influential executive in the world of online finance.
