There are three past Olympians on the team. Along with Pirozhkova, 2008 Olympic bronze medalist Randi Miller (Colorado Springs, Colo./Army WCAP) at 69 kg/152 lbs. and 2012 Olympian Kelsey Campbell (Colorado Springs, Colo./Sunkist Kids) at 55 kg/121 lbs. will be on the U.S. team in Tokyo.

2012 World silver medalist Helen Maroulis (Rockville, Md./Sunkist Kids) will compete, along with 2012 and 2013 World bronze medalist Alyssa Lampe (Colorado Springs, Colo./Sunkist Kids) at 48 kg/105.5 lbs.

“We have a very strong team. We were third at the World Championships last year. We let some things slide at the World Championships. We are capable of more than third place. We are definitely going over there to win. We have a team that can challenge to win, no matter who we are wrestling. We have high expectations,” said National Women’s Coach Terry Steiner.
The 2013 Women’s World Cup was hosted in Ulan Baator, Mongolia. China won the team title, with Mongolia in second, Japan in third and the United States in fourth.
