In his bronze-medal bout, Mango fell to 2007 Junior World champion Rahman Bilici of Turkey, 4-6.
Betterman also opened with two wins, knocking off Dustin Sherf of Germany, 3-1 and Dmytro Tsymbalink of Ukraine, 3-2. In the semifinals, he lost to two-time Junior World champion Aleksandar Kostadinov of Bulgaria, 0-3.
In his bronze-medal bout, Betterman was beaten by 2013 Junior World bronze medalist Radoslav Vasilev of Bulgaria, 0-3.
“The guys wrestled hard, but they came up a little short. They left it all out on the mat. Obviously, we are disappointed we didn’t get a medal. We had two good chances to earn a medal. It was a good experience and we have to build on this,” said U.S. coach Brandon McNab.
