The U.S. World Wrestling Teams in the three Olympic styles are completing their domestic training in preparation for the 2014 World Wrestling Championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, Sept. 8-14.
The U.S. teams in men’s freestyle, women’s freestyle and Greco-Roman were at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in August, as part of a summer of preparation for the World Championships. The men’s freestyle team also did a training cycle in Tempe, Ariz. In the coming days, the Greco-Roman team will travel to Kazakhstan for pre-World training, while the men’s and women’s freestyle teams will head to Ostia, Italy.
At the World Championships, the freestyle competition will be held first, from Sept. 8-9. National Freestyle Coach Bruce Burnett leads the coaching staff which has prepared the U.S. athletes for competition.

Next up is women’s freestyle wrestling on Sept. 10-12. National Women’s Coach Terry Steiner leads the coaching staff which has prepared the U.S. athletes for competition.

Finishing up the tournament will be Greco-Roman from Sept. 12-14. National Greco-Roman Coach Matt Lindland leads the coaching staff which has prepared the U.S. athletes for competition.

Everybody is healthy and feeling good,” said National Greco-Roman Coach Matt Lindland.
