After touring Eastern Europe with Team USA this summer, Kent State's Dustin Kilgore came home to throw out the first pitch at the Cleveland Indians - Chicago White Sox game Sept. 21 at Progressive Field.
The defending national champion at 197 pounds will be taking an Olympic redshirt this season after placing third at the U.S. World Team Trials on June 10. Kilgore spent a large portion of his summer at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, where he has recently returned. Later in the summer he competed in freestyle tournaments in Poland, Turkey and Azerbaijan.
Iowa City's Carver-Hawkeye Arena will host the 2012 U.S. Olympic Wrestling Trials April 21-22, where Kilgore hopes to earn a trip to London.
Kilgore plans to return to the Golden Flashes for the 2012-13 season.
