TIRANA, Albania – The U.S. men’s freestyle team wrapped up the Muhamet Malo Ranking Series with four medals on Thursday. Mason Parris and Dean Hamiti led the U.S. quartet with silver medals at Tirana’s Feti Borova Olympic Park.

2025 World Team members Kyle Snyder and Wyatt Hendrickson picked up bronze medals at United World Wrestling’s second Ranking Series event of the season.

In the 125 kg gold medal bout, 2024 Olympian Parris faced off against age-group World bronze medalist Abdulla Kurbanov of UWW. Parris fell behind early and tried to battle back against Kurbanov. However, a takedown as time expired for Parris was not enough in an 8-5 loss.

Over his last five international appearances, Parris has medaled in each, collecting three golds and two silvers.

Hamiti made it to the finals of his second-straight Ranking Series event this year, but lost a 10-0 contest to five-time World medalist Mohammad Nokhodilarim of Iran.

In three international tournaments, Hamiti has earned two silver medals and a bronze medal.

Hendrickson stormed back after his semifinal loss to Parris and pinned three-time age-group World medalist Hakan Buyukcingil of Türkiye. Hendrickson, who is a U23 World champion, controlled the match from start to finish with a pair of four-point moves to run his lead to 11-2 before pinning Buyukcingil just 2:05 into the match.

Hendrickson has now medaled in both Ranking Series events this year after collecting silver at the Zagreb Open.

A marquee bronze matchup that would feature four-time World champion Snyder facing two-time World medalist Magomedkhan Magomedov of Azerbaijan was negated. Magomedov injury defaulted before the match, and Snyder won bronze in his first international appearance of the season.

Cameron Amine and Jacob Cardenas both placed fifth at the event. At 79 kg, Amine lost a 3-3 decision by criteria in his bronze medal contest to Georgia’s Luka Chkhitunidze. In the 92 kg bronze medal match, Cardenas lost to Ahmed Bataev of Bulgaria, 11-0.

The U.S. finished with 10 total medals over the two days (one gold, three silver, six bronze).

Team USA wrapped up the Muhamet Malo atop the team rankings with 165 points, followed by Azerbaijan (83) and Kazakhstan (81).

The action at the Muhamet Malo Ranking Series continues Friday at 10:30 a.m. local time/4:30 a.m. ET with women’s freestyle group two (59-62-65-68 kg) and Greco-Roman group one (77-87 kg).

A live stream of the Muhamet Malo will be available to the U.S. audience through FloWrestling. Brackets and updated results will be hosted on UWW Arena.
