Former USA Wrestling employee Stephen D. Brown, 58, passed away Saturday in Maryland

Stephen D. Brown, 58, a former employee for USA Wrestling, passed away on Saturday, May 15 in Maryland. He had been in poor health during the past year.
Brown worked for USA Wrestling in the late 1980s through 1990. He was initially on the national staff when the headquarters were based in Stillwater, Okla., and worked during the first few years when USA Wrestling moved to Colorado Springs, Colo.
He was involved in working in many areas of the organization, with responsibilities in membership, communications and legal issues.
Steve was also recognized as one of the best wrestling photographers during his era. He shot outstanding photographs from USA Wrestling events and other major competitions within the sport of wrestling, and won a number of awards for his work. He was a photographer for wrestling at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, Calif.
The family will conduct a burial ceremony and graveside service at Old Trinity Church in Church Creek, Md. on Wednesday, May 19, at 1 p.m. There are plans for a memorial service sometime around June 1.
