Junior Boys Champions Crowned on Day Two of 2026 16U & Junior Folkstyle Nationals

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa – The Junior Boys division wrapped up at the 2026 USA Wrestling 16U & Junior Folkstyle Nationals with 15 national champions being crowned at The MidAmerican Energy Company RecPlex.

2025 16U champion Max Lindquist captured the title in the Junior division of this year’s installment of the folkstyle nationals after a pin 3:29 into his match at 100 pounds. Lindquist did not surrender a point over his two matches.

Cason Craft was the only other wrestler to pin their way to the title after he scored a pin 3:47 into the 113-pound championship bout. Craft bonused his way to the championship with three wins by technical fall and two via pin.

DeVaughn Miller (106 pounds), Waylon Cressell (190 pounds) and Ladd Holman (215 pounds) each captured their national championships with technical fall victories.

Before his technical fall in the finals, Holman pinned his first four opponents all within the first period to finish the tournament tied for most pins. Jeratt Robinson, Aiden Isaacson, Caden Parrson and Andres Rambo Lopez also finished with four falls each.

The championship contests at 157 pounds and 165 pounds both needed extra time and were decided in tiebreakers. Gus Cardinal won a 3-2 match at 157 pounds, and Mac Crosson grabbed a narrow 2-1 decision in the tiebreaker.

Maxwell Cumbee scored a championship finals-best 20 points to win the national title at 132 pounds with a 20-7 major decision. The trio of Gavin Landers (138 pounds), Sean Hall (144 pounds) and Maximus Dhabolt (175 pounds) also tallied major decisions to win their national titles.

Rounding out the Junior Boys champions were Isaiah Jones at 120 pounds, Hendrix Schwab at 126 pounds, Jake Mescher at 150 pounds and Kal-El Fluckiger at 285 pounds.

The 2026 USA Wrestling 16U and Junior Folkstyle Nationals is the first leg of the coveted USA Wrestling Triple Crown Award. Junior Boys champions from West Des Moines must win freestyle and Greco-Roman national titles in Fargo, N.D., to become Triple Crown Award winners in 2026.
