FLASH: Callihan wins Gi bronze medal for USA on final day of Grappling Worlds in Belarus

MINSK, Belarus - Laree Callihan (Lacey, Wash./United Training Center) won a bronze medal in Gi Grappling at Senior level at the Grappling World Championships which concluded on Sunday.
Competing at the 71+ kg/unlimited weight class, Callihan opened with a loss to a Russian opponent, then defeated her Iranian opponent by forfeit.
She won two medals this weekend, claiming a silver in the No-Gi competition on Saturday.
Dan Brecht (Sunset Beach, Calif./Edge MMA & Fitness) placed fifth at 84 kg with a 1-2 record, defeating an opponent from Pakistan, then losing bouts to athletes from Spain and France.
None of the other U.S. athletes were able to challenge for a Gi medal on Sunday.
