Olympian Dennis, Marine Bunker receive draws for Grand Prix of Germany

DORTMUND, Germany – Two U.S. athletes have weighed in and received their draws for the final day of competition at the Grand Prix of Germany to be held at Helmut-Körnig-Halle in Dortmund, Germany on Sunday.
U.S. Olympian in men’s freestyle at 57 kg/125.5 lbs., Daniel Dennis (Iowa City, Iowa/Titan Mercury WC/Hawkeye WC) will begin his final Olympic Games tune-up against Roman Walter of Germany. Walter was a member of the 2014 Junior World Team for Germany.
Dennis’ only other competition since making the U.S. Olympic Team came at the Freestyle World Cup in Los Angeles, Calif. where he posted a 2-2 record. His only losses at the World Cup came against reigning World champion and World No. 1 Vladimir Khinchegashvili of Georgia and World No. 2 Hassan Rahimi of Iran.
Competing in Greco-Roman on Sunday is U.S. Marine Raymond Bunker (Camp Lejeune, N.C./U.S. Marine Corps) at 71 kg/156.5 lbs. Bunker will open his day against World No. 20 Abuyazid Mantsigov of Russia. Mantsigov won the Russia Nationals this year and was a Junior World champion in 2013.
The U.S. picked up four medals in men’s freestyle on the first day of competition at the Grand Prix of Germany from four members of the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team. Three-time World champion and Olympic champion Jordan Burroughs claimed gold, Frank Molinaro earned silver and both J’den Cox and Kyle Snyder brought back bronze medals.
