Lou Rosselli, associate head coach for the Ohio State wrestling team, has accepted an offer to become the new head coach at the University of Oklahoma.
Ohio State head coach Tom Ryan confirmed this morning that Rosselli is leaving to take over the Oklahoma program after serving on his OSU staff since 2006.
“Personally it’s an emotional time,” Ryan said. “Lou is a guy who, when I accepted the (OSU) job, he and I had a similar vision in building something special. He’s been part of some special things here. In the same breath, I’m so excited for him and his family. He’s poured himself into the sport and people. This is a great opportunity for him.”
FloWrestling reported on Friday that Rosselli was going to be named Oklahoma’s next head coach, and Ryan said the move became official on Monday night. Rosselli is replacing Mark Cody, who resigned Aug. 11.
