Sancho, Morrow, Miranda and Roberts honored at NMU-OTS Student Athletic Banquet

MARQUETTE, Mich. - Sophomore Greco-Roman wrestler Alejandro Sancho was named the Most Valuable Performer at the Student-Athlete Recognition Banquet at Northern Michigan University Olympic Training Site (NMU-OTS) on Sunday night.
Sancho, from Miami, Fla., placed third at the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team Trials, was ranked second on the 2015-16 U.S.A Wrestling National Team and placed second at the 2015 World Team Trials.
Austin Morrow, a sophomore special education major with a 3.95 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) from Wenatchee, Wash. was named the Scholar Athlete of the Year and Randon Miranda, from Palmdale, Calif., was named the Newcomer of the Year.
Dalton Roberts was named most improved. The Fowlerville, Mich. native placed first at the Austrian Open, finished third at the Last Chance Olympic Trials Qualifier and was a member of the 2015 U.S. Junior World Team.
