David Arendt named USA Wrestling Athlete of the Week

David Arendt (Quantico, Va./U.S. Marines) has been named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week.
Each week, TheMat.com will select an Athlete of the Week, based upon performance within wrestling for that week. The selection committee will consider any level of wrestling, from youth programs through the Senior level.
Arendt won gold medals in Greco-Roman and freestyle wrestling at the Armed Forces Championships this past weekend at the Special Events Center at the U.S. Army post in Fort Carson, Colo.
Arendt, competing for the U.S. Marines, went 3-0 in Greco-Roman at 130 kg/286 lbs. on Friday before going 3-0 in freestyle at 125 kg/275 lbs. on Saturday.
Arendt was a 2013 U.S. Open champion and placed second at the 2013 U.S. World Team Trials in Greco.
