Clarissa Chun (Colorado Springs, Colo./Sunkist Kids) has been named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week for March 20-26.
Each week, TheMat.com will select an Athlete of the Week, based upon performance within wrestling for that week. The selection committee will consider any level of wrestling, from youth programs through the Senior level.
Chun captured the women's freestyle title at 48 kg/105.5 lbs. at the FILA Pan American Olympic Qualifying Tournament on March 24 in Kissimmee, Fla.
Chun's top-two finished qualified the U.S. for the Olympics in her weight class. She outscored her three opponents by a combined 43-3 margin.
Chun will next compete at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials, set for April 21-22 in Iowa City.
Chun placed fifth at the 2008 Olympic Games and followed by winning a World title later that year.
