U.S. to compete in women’s freestyle and Greco-Roman at Grand Prix of Spain, July 4-6

MADRID, Spain – A small group of U.S. Senior-level athletes will compete at the Grand Prix of Spain at the Pabellón Central Consejo Superior de Deportes, July 4-6.
There will be four U.S. women freestyle wrestlers competing and two U.S. Greco-Roman wrestlers in this respected international tournament in Madrid.
All four of the U.S. women competing in Spain qualified for the 2025 U.S. U20 World Team, Aubre Krazer (59 kg), Haylie Jaffe (62 kg), Daniella Nugent (65 kg) and Jordyn Fouse (68 kg).
Jaffe was a 2023 U17 World bronze medalist and a 2021 U17 Pan American champion. Jaffe was a 2024 WCWA runner-up at McKendree University.
Krazer, Nugent and Fouse are graduated seniors and among the nation’s top college recruits. Currently, Krazer is No. 7 and Fouse is No. 11 in the National Girls High School Pound-For-Pound rankings. Krazer will attend Lehigh, Nugent will go to Oklahoma State’s club program and Fouse will compete for Grand Valley State.
The women will be coached by Brazel Marquez, the head coach of the NCAA Div. I program at Lehigh. The women’s competition is scheduled for Saturday
Two Greco-Roman wrestlers from the Northern Michigan National Training Site will compete on Friday, Clay Johnston (72 kg) and Mason Parsons (82 kg). Parsons placed fourth in Greco-Roman at the 2025 U23 Nationals.
There will be no U.S. athletes competing in the men’s freestyle division on Sunday.
Session times for the tournament will be at 10:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. local time each day. Madrid is six hours ahead of U.S. Eastern time zone.
