Ellis Coleman named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week for July 3-9

Ellis Coleman (Colorado Springs, Colo./New York AC) has been named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week for July 3-9.
Each week, TheMat.com will select an Athlete of the Week, based upon performance within wrestling for that week. The selection committee will consider any level of wrestling, from youth programs through the Senior level.
Coleman earned praised from U.S. coaches for his efforts in training for the Olympic Games in Greco-Roman wrestling at 60 kg/132 lbs.
"Ellis has been working very hard at preparing himself for London" U.S. National Coach Steve Fraser said. "He is focused on his specific needs and is peaking his conditioning efforts. He seems very hungry to compete with the best in London. We look for great things from this young man."
Coleman, 20, a two-time Junior World bronze medalist, is scheduled to compete at the Olympics on Aug. 6 in London, England.
Coleman dropped down a weight class this season after previously competing at 66 kg/145.5 lbs. He won the Olympic Trials this season along with earning titles at the Sunkist Kids and New York AC events. He placed second at the Pan American Olympic Qualifier in Florida to qualify the U.S. for the Olympics at 60 kg.
