Hunter Stieber (Monroeville, Ohio/Ohio State University) has been named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week.
Each week, TheMat.com will select an Athlete of the Week, based upon performance within wrestling for that week. The selection committee will consider any level of wrestling, from youth programs through the Senior level.
Stieber captured the 141-pound title to help lead No. 5 Ohio State to the team title at the Cliff Keen Invitational on Saturday in Las Vegas.
The second-ranked Stieber reversed the outcome of last year's Cliff Keen finals, when he beat returning champion Michael Mangrum of Oregon State, 9-6. The fifth-ranked Mangrum won that match last year, 6-3.
Stieber's older brother, Logan, a returning NCAA champion, won the Cliff Keen title at 133.
Hunter Stieber, a sophomore, placed sixth at the NCAAs this past March in St. Louis.
