Tervel Dlagnev named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week for Sept. 29-Oct. 5

Tervel Dlagnev (Columbus, Ohio/Sunkist Kids) has been named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week for Sept. 29-Oct. 5.
Each week, TheMat.com will select an Athlete of the Week, based upon performance within wrestling for that week. The selection committee will consider any level of wrestling, from youth programs through the Senior level.
Dlagnev won a bronze medal in freestyle wrestling at the 2009 World Championships in Herning, Denmark. Dlagnev was competing at 120 kg/264.5 lbs.
Dlagnev swept Georiga's Alex Mobedadze 2-0, 2-0 in their bronze-medal match.
Dlagnev, 23, a two-time NCAA Division II champion for the University of Nebraska at Kearney, was competing in his first World Championships.
