Tyrell Fortune named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week for Feb. 24-March 2

Tyrell Fortune (Lake Oswego, Ore./Clackamas CC) has been named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week for Feb. 24-March 2.
Each week, TheMat.com will select an Athlete of the Week, based upon performance within wrestling for that week. The selection committee will consider any level of wrestling, from youth programs through the Senior level.
Fortune, a freshman, pinned his way through the tournament at 285 pounds to win the National Junior College Athletic Association championship on Feb. 28 in Rochester, Minn.
Fortune pinned all five wrestlers en route to the title. Fortune pinned Landon Harris of Northwest Wyoming in 5 minutes, 49 seconds in the final round.
Fortune was a 2008 Junior Nationals champion in Greco-Roman and freestyle, and is a past Cadet Nationals champion in Greco-Roman and freestyle. He was a two-time state high school champion.
