PHILADELPHIA, PA – May 6, 2025 – The Board of the Pennsylvania Regional Training Center (PRTC) is proud to announce the promotion of Kevin McGuigan to Chief Operating Officer.
After serving with distinction as the Director of Operations, McGuigan’s elevation to COO represents a commitment to continuity and operational excellence within the PRTC.
A fixture within the wrestling community for decades, McGuigan has been a steady presence through the growth and transitions of the PRTC. His systems-first approach and consistent leadership have played a vital role in supporting both the day-to-day execution and long-term vision of the PRTC.
“Kevin has been the heartbeat behind the scenes,” said Penn Head Coach Matt Valenti. “He understands the culture, the mission, and the expectations—not just because he’s seen it, but because he’s helped shape it. This move ensures that the infrastructure behind our program remains as strong and forward focused as the athletes on the mat.”
McGuigan’s background is uniquely aligned with the responsibilities of the COO role. As a former founder of the Patriot Wrestling Club and a longtime leader within the Pennsylvania wrestling community, he brings a strategic lens and a coach’s mindset to operations.
In his new role, McGuigan will oversee internal operations, logistics, and long-term planning across all areas of the program, helping to ensure structural redundancy, smooth transitions, and institutional memory—critical pieces in sustaining high-level performance year after year.
