Spenser Mango named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week for April 29-May 5

Spenser Mango (St. Louis, Mo./Gator WC/USOEC) has been named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week for April 29-May 5.
Each week, TheMat.com will select an Athlete of the Week, based upon performance within wrestling for that week. The selection committee will consider any level of wrestling, from youth programs through the Senior level.
Mango was named Outstanding Wrestler in Greco-Roman after capturing his first U.S. Nationals title on April 25 in Las Vegas. Mango beat past World bronze medalist and three-time World Team member Lindsey Durlacher 1-3, 3-0, 7-0 in the finals at 55 kg/121 lbs.
Mango, 21, won a World University title in 2006 before placing third at the Junior World Championships that same year. He placed second at the 2007 U.S. World Team Trials. Mango will be the No. 1 seed for the U.S. Olympic Team Trials, set for June 13-15 in Las Vegas.
Mango attends Northern Michigan University, where is enrolled in the U.S. Olympic Education Center program in Greco-Roman wrestling.
