Liberty leads Grays Harbor in men’s division, as quarterfinals set at NCWA Nationals

ALLEN, Texas – No. 1 ranked Liberty’s men’s team leads the standings after the first of three days at the NCWA Nationals, which began Thursday.
Liberty, which pushed 11 athletes into the quarterfinals, has 62.5 points, with No. 4 Grays Harbor at 50 points and eight quarterfinalists. No. 2 Apprentice, with seven quarterfinalists, is in third with 48.5 points.
The NCWA Nationals returns after missing the 2021 season due to the pandemic. This is the 25th annual event, which features non-varsity programs.
All 10 of the No. 1 seeds in the tournament have advanced to Friday’s quarterfinal rounds. The only weight class in which all of the top eight seeds reached the quarterfinals is at 165 pounds.
2020 champions who are in the quarterfinals are Rahsun Lawrence of East Carolina (No. 3 seed at 133), Ty’rae Carter of Texas A&M (No. 1 seed at 149) and Jeffrey Allen of Liberty (No. 1 seed at 235).
