National Wrestling Hall of Fame will stream Honors Weekend events on Rokfin

The National Wrestling Hall of Fame announced on Monday that it will broadcast its Honors Weekend events for the Class of 2022 LIVE on the Hall of Fame’s Rokfin channel at rokfin.com/nwhof.


Title sponsors for Honors Weekend are Daniel and Vivien Hyman, National Wrestling Hall of Fame Pennsylvania Chapter, Resilite, Richison Family Foundation and Sandy Stevens.


The Tribute Event will be broadcast LIVE on Saturday, June 4, at 10 a.m. CT


The Induction Ceremony will be broadcast LIVE on Saturday, June 4, at 7 p.m. CT


Both events will then be available on the Hall of Fame’s Rokfin channel at rokfin.com/nwhof.


Rokfin is a subscription service and it is recommended that accounts be created in advance at rokfin.com.


“We are excited to again be able to share both of our Honors Weekend events on Rokfin, allowing more people to experience them,” said Lee Roy Smith, Executive Director, National Wrestling Hall of Fame.


At the Tribute Event, each member of the Class of 2021 will have two individuals speak on their behalf, including how the honoree impacted their lives and the lives of others.


The event will be hosted by Hall of Fame Governor’s Associate Dave Martin, an NCAA champion for Iowa State and a member of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame’s Dan Gable Museum’s Glen Brand Wrestling Hall of Fame.


Speaking on behalf of Distinguished Member honoree Clarissa Chun will be sports psychologist and life coach Dr. Roberta Kraus and Waylon Hiler.


Speaking on behalf of Distinguished Member honoree Sara McMann will be her high school coach Tim Hutchins and National Wrestling Hall of Fame Distinguished Member Art Martori, founder and executive director of the Sunkist Kids wrestling program.


Speaking on behalf of Distinguished Member honoree Andy Rein will be his daughter Jenna Zipf and his college coach Duane Kleven.


Speaking on behalf of Distinguished Member honoree Jake Varner will be his cousin and former coach Andy Varner and there will be a Varner family video.


Speaking on behalf of Medal of Courage recipient Melissa Simmons will be her college coach Archie Randall and Dr. Bob Hines.


Speaking on behalf of Order of Merit recipient Mike Moyer will be Jim Miller, director of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame Dan Gable Museum and a member of the Glen Brand Wrestling Hall of Fame, and Greg Hatcher, who received the Order of Merit award in 2017 and who is a tremendous benefactor of wrestling, particularly in Arkansas where he is responsible for helping create wrestling programs at over 100 high schools and numerous colleges.


Speaking on behalf of Outstanding American Mario Lopez will be his longtime friend Greg Blankenship and his high school coach William Virchis, who not only coached Chula Vista to a Metro League Championship but also was one of the founding fathers of Chicano theatre and one of the most important performing arts educators in San Diego County.


Speaking on behalf of Meritorious Official honoree Tom Clark will be National Wrestling Hall of Fame Distinguished Member and Meritorious Official honoree Rick Tucci and Zach Errett, an accomplished international official whose work includes World Championships and the Olympics.


The Induction Ceremony will be hosted by Hall of Fame Board Member Sandy Stevens, a recipient of the Hall of Fame’s Order of Merit award as well as being the first female inducted into the Glen Brand Wrestling Hall of Fame of Iowa.


Each honoree will have an induction video, after which they will go onto the stage to receive their award and give a short acceptance speech.
